Im in the tall club, but membership has its privileges! You can see things in a crowd. You get seated faster. I dont fear for my well-being walking home at night. But I guess it all comes down to Im looking for a good dance partner! Ever the Gemini, Im pretty well-grounded, curious, open, eager to discuss an issue. My friends tell me I possess a sharp wit and strong sense of humor. You have to laugh, especially now, in New York. Money is not the goal of life, but you need the ability and the power to provide for your family and loved ones (sounds like an ad for an insurance company!). Im an international development consultant, dealing with rebuilding political economies of countries after disaster, generally war, strikes them. Often its the reverse, helping failing states before they fall into conflict. I wont name names, but you read about these cases in the NYT or Economist. Favorite activities: a run in the park, along the Hud, in the calm of the morning before the day gets hectic; a summer afternoon at the ballpark (soon!); meandering the halls and rooms of the Metropolitan; a weekend day exploring the length of Broadway and the other varied streets and neighborhoods of New York; a leisurely Sunday brunch and talk at a few favorite places (Ill tell you which ones later!); staying in for an evening of Casablanca and popcorn (co-pilot opening for that!); a sunny drive upstate, stopping in the different towns. My idea of the perfect date would be dinner at the Café des Artistes, then walking over to hear the Philharmonic, followed by espresso, good conversation, and a mid-summers evening walk. Yes, love at first sight (or site!) happens pretty often, but beyond the physical, it all comes down to who we are and what experiences we bring together. From there its just a chemical reaction!
My Ideal Person
Id like to know a lady who is intelligent and confident, caring and honest. Family and friends are central. She has to be able to take life in stride, to be able to laugh and smile during good times and bad. Sincerity and integrity are important. I want to share her life, her goals, her trials and tribulations, and vice versa. She cares about her health and well-being, and that of others. She has to have a positive set of values, and follow what she believes. Shes educated, cultured, open to new experiences, living a full life, willing to see things from other points of view. Im looking for a fellow traveler, literally and figuratively (it can get awfully lonely flying solo across the ocean!). Simply, shes someone Ill want to be with, to treat right, respecting her inherent uniqueness and beauty. I have faith that woman is out there, and the rest is working it out, compatibility, chemistry.
